Revelation 3:5
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment: and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Dear Friend,
Have you ever considered all the places your name might be recorded? Many people today are suprised to learn their names are listed in records and books in places they never new existed or had an interest in them personally. In recent times, we've all become more aware and concerned about agencies who hold personal information concerning our lives.
Well, there is an agency that has your name among its vital records and you may be totally unaware of the significance of this truth. That agency is the kingdom of heaven. Are your aware that God chose the recipients of salvation in Jesus before the world began? "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy andwithout blame before him in love:" (Eph 1:4-4) Since God is no respector of persons and is not willing for any to perish, this means He has chosen you to be saved.
The bible teaches that the names of all who are to be saved are written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world: "The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is." (Rev 17:8) This means God wrote your name there before you were born.
The bible does not teach that God writes people's names in the Book of Life as they are saved. That is because all our names are already recorded there. The bible does teach that He blots out the names of those who sin against Him: "And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book." (Ex 32:33) and "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." (Rev 22:19) The greatest sin anyone can commit is to die without accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior.
In short, dear friend, you have been chosen to be saved and your name is already recorded. The only thing now needed is for you to ensure that your name is not blotted out of God's Book of Life. Receive Jesus as Lord and Savior today and make sure your name remains recorded in the Kingdom of heaven.
