Moderator

Moderator Jackson is a native of Marion, NC. He is the son of the late Hubert Jackson and Johnsie Jackson. He was educated in the public schools of McDowell County. Upon graduation, he relocated to Winston-Salem, NC where he furthered his education. He studied at Winston-Salem State University, Forsyth Technical Institute, Winston-Salem Bible College and Trinity Bible College. He was honored with a Doctorate Degree of Divinity from the St. Augustine De Leon Bible Institute and Seminary. He was also awarded the Adam Clayton Powell Award of Excellence in ministry. He is a member of the NC State Convention where he serves on the Minister's Council and he is a member of the National Conventions of the USA, Inc.

Dr. Jackson has been affiliated with the High Point Educational and Missionary Baptist Association, Inc. for more than 30 years. He has served as delegate, member of the Executive Board, First and Second Vice-Moderator and presently as Moderator. He was licensed and ordained by this association under the leadership of the late Dr. W.L. Wilson, who served as Moderator for many years.

Moderator Jackson served as interim pastor at First Calvary Baptist Church until he was called to the pastorate at the Goodwill First Baptist Church in Madison, NC, where he has pastored for 15 years. Under his leadership, where his motto is God Can, God has done marvelous works.

He is married to Hazel McGill Jackson, a retired teacher of 31 years. He the the father of two sons, John II (Kyhana)who is a graduate of Winston-Salem State University, Eric, a graduate of Shaw University and a daughter of Lolita, a graduate of North Carolina Central University. He is also the proud grandfather of two, John III and Chelsea Melia. He is and has been for 25 years, the entrepreneur of Jackson's Cleaning Service, Inc. of Winston-Salem.
